How much funding does my club get?

There are a range of funding and grant opportunities for Clubs that are affiliated to the USU and up-to-date on the registration/acquittal to access. The types of grant that clubs can receive, and their eligibility criteria are detailed in the Finance Handbook each year. The 2026 Finance Handbook can be accessed at this link. 


The types of grants available in 2026 are:

  1. Semester Grants
  2. Camp Grants
  3. Discretionary Funding
  4. New Clubs Starter Grant (New clubs only) 

Grants can be applied for, managed, and acquitted through MyUSU by executives. This is done using the 'Money' module of a Club's executive management page.

Transition to USU Ltd
From 1 April 2026, USyd Student Union Ltd (ABN 52 688 637 818) became the organisation running the services, programs and activities previously operated by the University of Sydney Union (ABN 73 818 179 759). As part of the transition, existing USU membership benefits will continue to be recognised until 30 June 2026 in line with the transition arrangements. USU Rewards benefits will continue only for members who join USU Ltd. Membership of USU Ltd is separate and only takes effect in accordance with the USU Ltd constitution.
