"Confucius, Chinese Philosopher and Educator (c. 551-479 BC). This statue was generously donated to the University of Sydney Confucius Institute by the Chinese community. The Confucius Institute was officially founded on 17th June, 2008. The Institute is a collaboration between the University of Sydney and the Office of Chinese Language Council International in China, in partnership with Fudan University, Shanghai. The Confucius Institute is dedicated to becoming the leading Chinese cultural and language centre in NSW, serving as a bridge between Australia and China."
