TTRPG Taste Tester

From the people who brought you Intro to D&D comes TTRPG Taste Tester, a chance to dip your toe into a different sort of tabletop roleplaying game. Here we have chosen a selection of ttrpgs that are derived from the Powered by the Apocalypse system to show you how games with similar mechanics can achieve different tones while still maintaining the same strong foundation. In this event we will highlight the features of this TTRPG base then run through a session in these systems. We have the following available:

Monster of the week.

A TTRPG in the vein of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, and Scooby Doo. Each session the players investigate weird happenings and eventually face down the monster behind it all with their wits and magic knowledge.

CAIN is a part mystery game, part shonen action game of tracking down monsters made from the psychic manifestations of human trauma, and then fighting them with your own reality-bending psychic powers. Inspired by works such as The SCP Foundation, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, H.E.L.L.S.I.N.G and other supernatural horror action media.

Offworlders

A super simple game of blue-collar space adventures in the vein of Alien(s), Firefly, or Cowboy Bebop. Try to make a living with your laser pistol, pilot your battered ship through strange formations, and maybe meet some things with tentacles.
