Year of the Horse Celebration

Come celebrate with us for the Year of the Horse Celebration on 17 February 2026!

From 4pm – 8 pm, Hermann’s Bar, Courtyard, and the International Student Lounge will come alive with colour, culture, and community as students and alumni come together to welcome the new year.

This vibrant festival has something for everyone: 

  • Delicious food and drink
  • Creative activities all evening including paper lantern making, calligraphy and lucky tree for making wishes and good fortune 
  • Dragon dancing and other performances

USU acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, upon whose stolen land which we operate, gather as employees and live. We pay our respects to Aboriginal Elders past, present and emerging, and we extend this acknowledgement to any other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
