Project Title: Tulong Aral — FSS USYD x ING Learning Centre Online Tutorial Initiative

This project is being carried out in partnership with World Vision Philippines. Through this initiative, we aim to provide online English and Mathematics tutorials to 30 Grade 4 students based in Baseco (in the Philippines) through ING Learning Center, enhancing their foundational skills and confidence in learning.

We are looking for FSS members interested in volunteering as either English or Math Tutors.

This is a great opportunity to:

• create community impact by helping underprivileged Filipino children develop essential skills,
• promote cultural exchange by engaging with the a community in the Philippines
• gain leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills

When: Saturdays 9 to 11AM PH time (11AM to 1PM AEST or 12 to 2PM AEDT) from September 16 to October 11

Mode: Online via Zoom

Volunteer Expectations

• Commitment of about 3 hours per week (1 hour preparation, 2 hours tutorial time)
• Basic English or Math proficiency
• Stable internet connection
• Willingness to engage with young learners

Preferable Criteria

• basic Tagalog proficiency (but we still welcome you to express your interest to volunteer even if you're not proficient in Tagalog!)
