Postgraduate Organisation for Political & Social Sciences (POPSS) Annual General Meeting

This will be the Annual general meeting for the Postgraduate Organisation for Political & Social Sciences.

The main aim will be to elect the incoming executive for the club and ensure a smooth transition into next year.

1. OPENING AND WELCOME

2. APOLOGIES AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE

3. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING & BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

4. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

5. Election of Executives Appointment of Returning Officer

Nominations will be taken and considered for the following positions:

i. A President

ii. A Vice-President of Academic Affairs

iii. Secretary

iv. Treasurer

v. A Vice-President of Community Development and Activities

vi. A Vice-President of Professional Development

• People may nominate themselves before hand by contact the current president Cole Tyman at [email protected] or nominate themselves on the day of the meeting or when the call for nominations for the specific position is made during the meeting.

• People are permitted to self-nominate

• Once all nominations are submitted, the nominees will be allowed to give a small speech to campaign for the position.

• Following this, the returning officer will conduct a secret ballot vote for the position in question.

• Results will be disclosed afterthe votes for all the positions have been conducted and counted.

• The returning officer will not disclose vote count, nor the difference in votes/positions post voting (except for the winner of the vote)
