Appointment of Returning Officer
Nominations will be considered and voted on for the following positions:
• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Marketing Director
• Events Director
• Sponsorships Director
• External Relations Director
• Cultural Director
• Media and Designs Director
DUTIES OF EXECUTIVE MEMBERS
The President shall:
Plan the Society’s activities in consultation with the Executive.
Liaise with the Executive and any Committees formed by the Society.
Ensure an adequate handover, including any documents and materials, to the following Executive.
The Vice-President(s) shall:
Deputise for the President.
The Treasurer shall:
Maintain the Society’s finances in accordance with the handbooks produced by the Clubs &
Societies Office of The University of Sydney Union.
Present to the Annual General Meeting of the Society a report detailing the financial activity and status of the Society.
Ensure an adequate handover, including any documents and materials, to the following Executive.
The Secretary shall:
Conduct the correspondence of the Society.
Book meeting rooms for the Society.
Keep minutes of the proceedings of all Society meetings.
Maintain the records and documents of the Society.
Maintain a list of current Members, in accordance with University of Sydney Union Guidelines.
Maintain the Society’s registration with The University of Sydney Union.
The Marketing Director shall:
Promote the Society’s events and initiatives through digital and print channels.
Develop strategies to increase student engagement and membership.
The Events Director shall:
Plan, organise, and coordinate all events, including logistics, catering, and scheduling.
Work closely with other directors to ensure events align with the Society’s aims.
The Sponsorships Director shall:
Secure sponsorships, partnerships, and funding from external organisations.
Build long-term relationships with sponsors and ensures obligations are met.
The External Relations Director shall:
Represent the Society to other clubs, external organisations, and cultural bodies.
Coordinate collaborations with other societies and networks.
The Cultural Director shall:
Oversee cultural content, ensuring authenticity and diversity in events.
Organise cultural showcases such as festivals, performances, and workshops.
Media and Designs Director shall:
Manage the Society’s creative output including posters, social media content, event photography
Maintains a consistent and professional visual identity for the Society.
Nominations and Nominee speeches will be given via zoom, where each member in
the meeting will be given an opportunity to cast their vote. Nominations will be taken via
the floor.
