Hobbies and Interests
Outside of academics and leadership roles, I’m someone who’s always up for new experiences and finding ways to connect with others. I enjoy hiking, trying new food spots, and diving into a good book or podcast when I get the chance. I’m passionate about creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen and heard, and I genuinely love building community—whether that’s through organizing events, supporting my peers, or just being someone others can count on. Fun fact: I can make a pretty mean playlist for just about any mood or occasion!

Candidate Policy Statement
As a candidate, my goal is to advocate for policies that directly reflect the needs and voices of our student body. I am committed to increasing transparency between student leadership and the wider campus community, promoting mental health and wellness initiatives, and supporting diverse and inclusive programming that celebrates the many identities within our university. I believe in building a campus environment where every student feels empowered, supported, and heard. If elected, I will actively listen, collaborate, and take meaningful action to ensure our community thrives—both inside and outside the classroom.
Describe the key roles and responsibilities of a USU Board Director.
The primary role is to represent the student voice in shaping the vision, policies, and operations of the University Student Union. This includes attending regular board and committee meetings, reviewing and approving budgets, policies, and programs, and helping guide the strategic direction of the USU. Board Directors work collaboratively with students, staff, and administrators to ensure that USU services and initiatives meet the evolving needs of the campus community. You are also expected to actively engage with students to bring forward their concerns, promote transparency, and advocate for equity, inclusivity, and student well-being in all decision-making processes.
How will you ensure that you can commit the time required to be an effective Board Director?
I understand that serving as a USU Board Director is a significant commitment, and I’m fully prepared to dedicate the time and energy it requires. I’ve taken a close look at my current schedulings and made adjustments to ensure I can dedicate myself to attending all meetings, participating in committees, and engaging with students regularly. I’m highly organized, manage my time well, and thrive in leadership roles where consistency and accountability are key. Most importantly, I’m genuinely passionate about this role and the impact it can have, and I’m ready to give it the attention and focus it deserves.
How will you represent the best interests of the student community, while also representing the best interests of the USU?
To represent both the student community and the USU, I’ll prioritize communication, transparency, and collaboration. I’ll regularly engage with students to understand their needs while also supporting the USU’s mission. By finding common ground and advocating for sustainable, student-centered solutions, we can create outcomes that benefit both students and the broader campus community.
Identify an area of the USU where you would like to see improvement and explain how this will be of benefit to the organisation and/or students.
One area I would focus on improving at the University of Sydney is increasing student engagement with campus clubs and societies. While these groups offer a range of benefits, many students struggle to find or connect with the right community. By enhancing the visibility and accessibility of clubs, especially for first-year and international students, we can create a more inclusive and dynamic campus culture. Strengthening these connections will help students build support networks, develop leadership skills, and foster a greater sense of belonging, contributing to a more vibrant and engaged student body at USYD.
