Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy singing and have love to busk outside Town Hall Station, which is a fun way to share something I love. I also really like exploring new places during sightseeing and trying out new things with friends!! Recently I have played badminton and gone bouldering!! I also love meeting people and making new friends and sharing different experiences of ourselves. Uni life can be busy but I always try to make time for things that make me positive and help me connect with others.

Describe the key roles and responsibilities of a USU Board Director.
The USU Board Director is responsible for reflecting student opinion and ensuring that USU continues to offer programs and activities that benefit students. This includes being friendly, taking consideration to students’ concerns, and bringing their feedback to the board. Board Directors are also responsible for governance, long-term planning, and making important decisions that affect campus life. It’s about making meaningful change, being transparent as well as working closely with the USU team to ensure the group is inclusive and continually improving.
How will you ensure that you can commit the time required to be an effective Board Director?
I've always been good at time management and being organised, even when balancing study and extracurricular activities. If elected, I would prioritise my Board responsibilities and organise my timetable to ensure that I have enough time for my position. I understand that this is a significant commitment, but I am very passionate about improving student life and willing to put in the effort!
How will you represent the best interests of the student community, while also representing the best interests of the USU?
The main goal of USU is to serve students, hence what is best for students corresponds with what is best for USU. Being open, accessible, and transparent about the motivations behind decisions can help maintain trust between USU and students. I’ll prioritise continuous and honest communication with students to ensure they always feel heard and respected. This allows me to effectively represent students interests while also ensuring the divisions support the USU in the long term.
Identify an area of the USU where you would like to see improvement and explain how this will be of benefit to the organisation and/or students.
I would really like to see improvements made to the way USU promotes international students about its activities and services. Many students miss out on the many great activities that USU offers because they are unaware of what is going on or where to access the information. This might be due to language barriers or a lack of knowledge with how things work here. I want to help make USU promotions more accessible, transparent, and noticeable by improving outreach and student-focused content. This would make more students feel involved and increase overall engagement at the USU.
