Hello everyone!
I'm a huge reader! As evidenced in my degree I (go figure) really enjoy reading works of politics and philosophy! But also a bit of fiction on the side, particularly Dostoevsky or Tolstoy :)
As an Eastern Orthodox Christian, I also enjoy delving into some theology as well to deepen my understanding of my own faith too.
To keep myself fit on the side with uni, I also do hapkido and go to the gym. As the Greek aphorism goes, "Healthy mind, healthy body"!

Candidate Policy Statement
To all the wonderful people of USYD,
The USU as a student union should represent our interests and needs. But is that always the reality? The USU has done wonderful things in the past, yet we need to go further.
TOGETHER, with God’s help, we can do great things. I firmly believe in the power of leaders to effect great change in our societies. History cries out to affirm this: from St. Constantine the Great’s legalisation of Christianity, or in more recent times the likes of John Howard with his implementation of stricter gun control.
If elected on the USU, I will be YOUR representative, and advocate for
1) Lower prices via USU venues (guys… why am I paying five bucks for a small matcha latte in the midst of a cost of living crisis? ;-;)
2) The voice of Christian students. We deserve more representation in student bodies like the USU (if our board can have no fewer than 5 women or gender diverse people at one time, then why can’t we have at least one Christian?).
3) Further charitable initiatives like EatUp Australia.
And more to come! I am open to suggestions.
Let’s make the USU for you!

Describe the key roles and responsibilities of a USU Board Director.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Represent the interests of the USU members
- Attend meetings and vote on resolutions
- Discuss and debate the strategic goals of USU
- Discuss and debate the financial direction of the USU
How will you ensure that you can commit the time required to be an effective Board Director?
As a prospective Board Director, I will aim to:
- Make time in my schedule to attend meetings, to discuss and debate with board members.
- Always keep the mission of the USU board director in mind. Without this, there is little motivation to move forward.
- But motivation is not sufficient. One must also need dedication and discipline to commit to the duties of a Board Director.
How will you represent the best interests of the student community, while also representing the best interests of the USU?
As a prospective Board Director, I will be open to suggestions from the wider student community concerning student-relevant issues. We are a student union after all! I do not wish to be detached from the needs of our community.
Moreover, I will stand up for the best interests of the Christians on campus, who, amidst a more progressive environment may feel marginalised or isolated. I will be their voice whenever I can.
Above these two things, I want to keep the truth at the centre.
Identify an area of the USU where you would like to see improvement and explain how this will be of benefit to the organisation and/or students.
A main area of the USU I believe we need is more religious representation. We are, after all, a student union, and as such we should represent the broader cross-section of the union.
But another area I think we can improve on is catering to student financial interests. I suppose the stereotype for us students is that we're always broke. But why does a small handful of pasta from a food truck cost like 7 bucks? Or why does a decaf coffee from USU cost around $5?
