Describe the key roles and responsibilities of a USU Board Director.

My role is clear. As a director I must always act in the best interests of the USU and its members above all other interests.

My roles and responsibilities are clear:
- Listen to the USU members. As a Director, my decisions are on the members behalf.
- Ensure the resources of the USU are best allocated to benefit USU members.
- Be transparent and accountable. Good governance means being answerable to USU members.

We are BETTER TOGETHER!

How will you ensure that you can commit the time required to be an effective Board Director?

Having been a director of community organisations, I understand the time commitment required of an effective Board Director. Being an effective director is more than just 'showing up to meetings.' An effective director asks questions, not just about the issues, but about how the USU can do more for students. An effective director speaks to members to know what is important and where the USU must focus.

I will support students, clubs and societies and ensure that I am an effective director and that the USU is an effective board for students.

We are BETTER TOGETHER!

How will you represent the best interests of the student community, while also representing the best interests of the USU?

The USU is a member organisation. It is my duty as a director to ensure the USU supports its members. The interests of the USU and of Students are not separate. The USU must support clubs and societies to bring students together, guarantee all events are accessible to all students and ensure food on campus stays affordable to students.

Accountability is necessary to ensure student interests are represented by the USU. I am committed to transparency of the USU to ensure accountability to the student community is always maintained.

We are BETTER TOGETHER!

Identify an area of the USU where you would like to see improvement and explain how this will be of benefit to the organisation and/or students.

The University of Sydney has approximately 30,000 postgraduate students 42% of all students. However, postgraduate students are poorly represented on the USU board. Having a postgraduate student voice on the USU Board will ensure issues facing postgraduate students are heard and responded to.

We are BETTER TOGETHER!
