Western Sydney Health Initiative (WSHI)

Western Sydney Health Initiative (WSHI) aims to raise awareness of the health discrepancies in Sydneys Western Suburbs and provide networking opportunities for USYD Medical and Allied Health students/graduates interested in Western Sydney Health. We aim to advocate and raise awareness of Western Sydney health discrepancies, as well as discuss potential solutions in closing health outcomes. We hope to organise seminars for clinicians of Western Sydney to share their experiences, advice and goals for Western Sydney health. Also we want to address other factors influencing health outcomes such as Western Sydneys vast cultural diversity, by inviting cultural advisors to help educate students/graduates on how to create cultural safe practice. Personally, we are a couple of first year Medical students who hope to raise awareness and meet other like minded students/graduates and clinicians also interested in Western Sydney health.
