The Incommensurables

We represent one of the most unique and interesting schools of the Faculty of Science at USYD, the school of History and Philosophy of Science (HPS).

Whether you are a science student wanting to understand your discipline on a deeper level, or a humanities student wanting to understand the cultural, historical and philosophical impact of science, The Incommensurables is the society for you.

We bring together undergraduates, postgraduates and academics from a wide set of disciplines to explore how science works, where it comes from, and how it fits into society today.

We host and collaborate with other societies to run a variety of social and academic events throughout semester. If you have any ideas or suggestions for any events that you think would be exciting, we want to hear from you!

Membership is free!

We have weekly social meetups at Hermann's Bar on Wednesdays at 5pm. Come hang out, chat and get to know like-minded folks!
