Sydney University Aerospace Medicine Society

The Sydney University Aerospace Medicine Society (SUAMS) is a student-led organisation focused on the medical challenges of spaceflight and aviation. Specifically, space medicine addresses astronaut health and performance in the unique conditions of space, including radiation exposure and microgravity. We offer expert talks, workshops, and networking events, providing students with valuable opportunities to learn, conduct research, and connect with professionals from organisations such as the Australian Space Agency and the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine. SUAMS aims to inspire and prepare the next generation of aerospace medicine pioneers through interdisciplinary collaboration. As a founding signatory of the Artemis Accords, Australia is pivotal in future space exploration missions, contributing to our return to the Moon and the journey to Mars. SUAMS cultivates a diverse and supportive community to realise this goal.
