The Sydney College of the Arts Student Society (SCASS) provides flourishing community for artists and SCA students. With parties, gallery crawls and social events you can immerse yourself in the Sydney arts scene, meet your peers and find lifelong friends in the industry.

If you would like to expand your skills we also run life drawing, workshops, artist talks & roundtable discussions about all things contemporary art!

SCASS manages and operates the ONLY student run gallery space on campus: Backspace (located on level 3 of the Wentworth Building).

Backspace provides students with a chance to show their work alongside peers or through solo projects. As Backspace is run by student artists, we understand how valuable getting exhibition experience is while you are studying. Whether it's a performance, video, sound work, painting, we want to give you the space to realise your creative dreams.
