Sydney Arts Students’ Society
The Sydney Arts Students' Society (SASS) is the official Faculty society for students within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney, providing a vibrant experience of student life and dynamic opportunities for all of our members.
SASS caters for students of all backgrounds, abilities, and interests. In 2023, we have an exciting social agenda, engaging career opportunities, and the chance to contribute to one of our three prestigious publications (including our celebrated literary journal, ARNA, renamed AVENUE in 2022). Our focus is on elevating Arts students to better connect with the Arts community inside and outside of academia, and to make student life inclusive and accessible for all students.
The continued fight to save the Arts in Australia and relentlessly defend the concept of university as more than an institution of job creation, is perpetual. Attacks on our education, staff, and treasured Academics within the Arts and Social Sciences will maim the ability for us to critically think and engage with the world around us.
As the official student-led society of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, we implore our members to appreciate the value of the Arts education. Our aim is to provide accessible events that cover all aspects of being an Arts student, from the fun and fabulous, to the analytical and astute. Join SASS for free today and keep up to date with our latest events. SASS is an official Faculty Club and is provided by the University of Sydney Union (USU).
SASS allows you to join an instant community of Arts students, and experience all the benefits of a large network – both socially and professionally.
We’re known for our huge annual events, including First Year Camp in Semester 1 and the Arts Ball in Semester 2.
Our community thrives at social events like our annual pub crawl, back to uni parties, first year arts camp, interfaculty sport, and trivia.
