Be part of a UNIQUE COMMUNITY that is passionate about raising funds to SUPPORT the EDUCATION of UNDERPRIVILEDGED CHILREN in RURAL CHINA while EMBRACING CHINESE POP AND TRADITIONAL CULTURE!
Project Hope is a charity-based student society dedicated to improving the access to quality education and future career opportunities of underprivileged children in rural China. We are also one of the ONLY societies in Australia that holds BOTH Chinese Pop AND Traditional Cultural events.
Project Hope was founded in 2006 in UNSW, and due to its growing community, a USYD branch was formed in 2018. Profits raised through our fundraising stalls and social events go directly towards purchasing educational supplies, sporting and music equipment for the children in rural China. Along with UNSW, in 2022, we donated $10 000 AUD worth of products including a smartboard, unicycles and recorders to Huang Tu Kan Village Central Primary School in Huludao, Liaoning to help students experience a similar quality of education to those living in the city and develop their skills and special interests.
Pre-COVID, we also went on donation trips to personally donate the products and teach at the rural primary schools in China.
Become a member and be part of our unique community, get discounts at food stalls and events, join our subcommittees, have the opportunity to go on our annual donation trip and most importantly, make a POSITIVE IMPACT on the QUALITY OF LIFE AND EDUCATION of CHILDREN in RURAL CHINA!
