Sydney University Italian Society

Ciao a tutti! We’re the Sydney University Italian society, also known as “CUI” (Circolo Universitario Italiano). Since our establishment in 2004, we’ve been here for everyone who lives and breathes Italian culture, whether you grew up speaking the language at the dinner table, have Italian roots you want to reconnect with, or simply can’t get enough of Italy’s food, film, fashion, and la dolce vita. Italian culture is worth celebrating, and we’re the place on campus for it!

Our events are at the heart of what we do. We host fortnightly “Caffè e Conversazione” sessions where you can join us for a chat in Italian or English and grab a free coffee as a member. We also screen Italian films in collaboration with the Italian Studies Department at USYD, host Aperitivo nights with pizza and aperol spritzes, and throw end of semester parties in collaboration with other university Italian societies from across Sydney. Membership gets you discounts on our events as well as free food and drinks across select events.

Throughout the semester, we host events including:

- Caffè e Conversazione (fortnightly)

- Aperitivo nights

- Italian Film Festival screenings & free Italian film screenings at USYD

- Intercultural trivia nights with other European language societies

- End of semester parties with other Italian societies
