Archaeology Society

ArchSoc is a student archaeology society based at the University of Sydney. Keen to meet like-minded people with a love of all thing’s archaeology? Then ArchSoc is the club for you! We host events, keep students informed about volunteer opportunities, upcoming excavations and job openings, as well as providing contact with the Archaeology Department and its faculty.

Joining Archsoc will provide new members with:

You definitely cannot miss Trivia Night, Movie Night or our fantastic annual Symposium! Not to mention Honours Night, along with artefact handling sessions, our mentoring programme, and casual catch-ups. We keep our members in the loop about volunteering, employment openings, and opportunities to participate in excavations both near and far! We also post about all upcoming public archaeology seminars & lectures at uni, so you can hear about new discoveries from the people who found them!

We’re a friendly bunch, and our community includes current and past members (many of whom have gone on to forge archaeology careers across the globe!).
