AGENDA OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF USYD Dog Society TO BE HELD AT 5pm, 5th August 2019 AT University of Sydney 1. OPENING AND WELCOME 2. APOLOGIES AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE 3. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING & BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES 4. ANNUAL REPORTS 5. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS The following amendments to the constitution are proposed. 2.1 The aims of the Society shall be to: - Enrich the student experience at the University by hosting unique events where students experience close interactions with dogs and have the opportunity to connect with other students which would significantly help keeping students physically and mentally healthy and motivating students especially during stressful exam periods - Promote and encourage interaction and engagement between diverse student groups through our events, attracting students, especially dog lovers, to come together and have a good time socialising, making new friends and sharing their experiences - Foster an active campus community at the University by frequently bringing students together through our events in the form of ordinary members and/or executive members where we will all share our love for dogs, creating an unbreakable connection between all the students both on and off campus - Provide opportunities for professional development and leadership experience by recruiting students to be part of the executive team where students will be involved in the management of the society – planning and managing events, collaborating with other societies and businesses, working with team members - that will develop their leadership, social, interpersonal and organisation skills - Support the Faculties, Schools, Departments and Colleges of the University by enhancing the university experience for both staff and students, Dog Soc will act as a platform that encourages students to connect and interact with others, motivating and hoping to help with mental and physical wellbeing of all students and maintaining a wholesome and active community Amend to Appendices 2.2 The aims of the Society shall be to: To enrich the on-campus and off-campus social life of students by bringing people together through the connected love and appreciation of dogs. 3.3 The subscription fees for membership shall be: i) Ordinary Membership $3 ii) Associate Membership $3 Amend to 3.3 The subscription fees for membership shall be: i) Ordinary Membership $5 ii) Associate Membership $5 4.1 The Society shall have an Executive consisting of: i) A President ii) Two Vice President(s) iii) A Secretary iv) A Treasurer v) And up to a further 12 General Executive Member(s). Amend to 4.1 The Society shall have an Executive consisting of: i) A President ii) A Vice President iii) A Secretary iv) A Treasurer v) And up to a further 15 General Executive Member(s). 6. ELECTION OF EXECUTIVES Appointment of Returning Officer Nominations will be considered and voted on for the following positions:  Events Director (1) + Team (2)  Marketing Director (1) + Team (2)  Public Relations Coordinator (1)  Finance Coordinator (1) Nominations for positions should be sent to sudogs.exec@gmail.com directly with Full Name, Access Number, SID and position(s) of interest. Nominations will close 48 hours prior to the general meeting. 7. GENERAL BUSINESS 8. DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING To be discussed at the AGM 9. CLOSE OF MEETING
