Uni break is just around the corner, so we’ve curated a list of fun things to do in Sydney this Winter to make this break your best one yet! Whether you’re into art, food, film or simply just want to explore more of Sydney, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, most of these events are FREE so you’re guaranteed to have an exciting day out without breaking the bank.

⚡️ Sonic Neon

If you couldn’t make it to Vivid this year or couldn’t get enough of it, Sonic Neon is the event for you! Enter an immersive light and sound experience taking you through 8 different rooms, each with state-of-the-art visuals and an electric soundtrack. The experience takes place at Luna Park so continue the fun on rides afterwards.

🖼️ Art After Hours at Art Gallery NSW

📆 Every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm

Experience art in a new light (literally) by exploring the Art Gallery of NSW after hours. Checkout the programs running including performances and talks, join a guided tour to learn more about the art or roam around solo. Get creative and join a weekly workshop offering meditative and hands-on lessons.

🧘🏽‍♀️Free Yoga Under the Bridge

📆 Every Sunday at 8.30am & 9:30am

What better way to start your Sunday mornings than exercising with a view! Clear your mind and relieve your anxiety after exams through this active meditation that also strengthens your body. No experience or registration required, just BYO yoga mat or a towel.

Get to know more of Sydney and meet new people on our out of Sem Day Trips. Laugh your way into uni break at the ID Comedy Club, come close to meeting your favourite celebrities at Madame Tussauds, time travel at the Medieval Fair and go on an Aboriginal Bush Tucker Tour. Are you even a foodie if you haven’t been to the Carriageworks Farmers Market? Spend your Saturday morning roaming around the various food stalls, from fresh produce to traditional Vietnamese food to a tasty treat from AP Bakery, they’ve got it all! Entry is FREE so just bring yourself and an empty stomach.

👻 Haus of Horror

📆 22 June at 7:00pm & 9:15pm

Grab your popcorn and your friends for a night in Sydney’s spookiest location, the old Darlinghurst Gaol, for a screening of The Ring. Enjoy live music, food stalls, an immersive photo booth and tarot card readings before your session inside the cellblock.

Spend a fun-filled day out with friends at the iconic annual Bondi Festival. Get into the winter spirit on the ice-rink or see Bondi Beach from new heights on the Ferris Wheel.
