Why wasn't my application approved?
It's important to know, that not all new club applications will be approved. We have nearly 260 existing clubs and we don't want to dilute the values of these existing clubs by adding another one with similar aims and values.
The committee reviews and assesses every single application to determine if the proposed club or society will contribute to the C&S program in ways the existing clubs aren't.
If the proposed club wishes to appeal the decision of the panel, they may email a letter of appeal to the panel addressing any previous concerns. This can be done by emailing the Clubs Office with the subject line of New Club Application Appeal. Appeals cannot exceed more than 1 page.
Should the appeal be declined, the matter may be brought to the USU Board. The Board will assess the application and review with the panel’s reasons for rejecting the application. Should the Board reject this appeal, this decision will be final.
Should the appeal be rejected, the new club cannot reapply for 12 months from the date of the second decision.
