When does my USU membership expire?

If you're a USYD student, your membership won't expire until you cease being an enrolled student at the University (e.g., when you complete your last classes at the University).

If you've upgraded to Rewards Membership during the year, you will revert back to Standard (Free) membership once it expires on 31 December.

If you're not a USYD student, you will need to renew membership each year by purchasing USU Rewards. Membership to the USU is based on your affiliation with USYD. You can find out more if you are eligible to be a USU Member here. If you are not eligible for Membership, you can purchase USU Rewards to access discounts on campus and join clubs. 

Incorporation Update

From 1 April 2026, The USU officially transitioned to a new incorporated entity, USU Ltd. Existing memberships will expire on 30 June 2026. You must join USU Ltd and accept the terms to continue accessing discounts, benefits and services. *No refunds can be issued if you choose not to transitions.
