Role of Treasurer

Role Purpose 


The Club Treasurer is responsible for the financial management, accountability, and sustainability of the Club. The role ensures that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with University, USU, and constitutional requirements, and that the executive committee and Club members are kept informed of the Club’s financial position. 


Key Responsibilities 


  • Ensure the Club’s financial operations comply with USU’s governance and the Clubs own constitution 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including receipts, tax invoices, and capital expenditure. 
  • Prepare, monitor, and balance budgets and financial statements 
  • Submit required financial reviews, acquittals, and reports within prescribed timeframes 
  • Provide regular financial updates to the executive committee and Club members 
  • Act as an authorised signatory on the Club’s bank account, overseeing transactions and reimbursements 
  • Present a Treasurer’s report at the Annual General Meeting 
  • Ensure a thorough handover to the incoming Treasurer
