How can I gain a sponsor?

There are a lot of options! Each society goes about it in their own way. Some societies will approach likeminded companies directly, in person, or via email and will work out an agreement based on the company's ability to provide specific things. This could look like a one off payment from the sponsor in return for their logo being displayed as a sponsor with club promotional material for a year.

This tends to be what occurs with smaller societies who seek fewer sponsorships, to allow for a more customised experience.

Please note that sponsorship agreements are legal documents, and we cannot provide legal advice.

When signing a sponsorship contract, you must first:

  • Ensure you are working with a trusted organisation. It is recommended to reach out to organisations that your society has worked with in the past, or that have worked with other societies. Read and confirm that that their aims and public positions align with that of your society.
  • Check to see if the requirements of the agreement conflict with guidelines laid out in the C&S handbook, or in other relevant Clubs policies.
  • Confirm that your society will be able to fulfill the terms of the agreement.
  • Submit unsigned contract to the Clubs office for review – we can’t help you if you’ve already signed it.

Please note that you will also have to submit your agreement with your financial review.
