USU Exposure Terms and Conditions Back to Competitions

Terms and Conditions

  • Entries will open from August 6th and close on August 27th 2018.
  • To enter, entrants must: Submit a photo through Instagram with
    • a photo blurb of up to 25 words  
    • required hashtag: #usuexposure  
    • required tag: @usuaccess.  
  • 30 photos will be chosen by Verge Gallery and then will be put on Facebook for a public vote starting from September 10th to September 17th 2018.
  • After the public vote, 20 chosen entries will get a chance to be exhibited at the Laneway Café and the Manning Bar. Finally, professional judges will select 4 winners
  • Prizes include:
    • First prize: Polaroid Snap Touch Instant Camera Gift Bundle $250 
    •  Second Prize: Canon SELPHY CP1300 photo printer $200 (1 winner)
    • Third Prize: The Sydney International Art Series Gallery Pass (including
      AGNSW Modern Masters from the Hermitage Exhibition and MCA David Goldblatt Photographic Exhibition) $100 (2 winners)
  • The top 20 will be displayed at the Laneway Café and the Manning Bar
  • Winners will be chosen by professional judges
  • Winners will receive the prizes specified.
  • 30 entries will be chosen by Verge gallery and placed on Facebook for the public to vote for the top 20.
  • All entrants must be current USYD students.
  • There is no minimum age to enter.
  • All entries must be photographs taken by the entrant.
  • Entrants may submit as many photographs as they wish to.
  • If you are taking photos of children, please ask their parents or guardians for consent.
  • Entries must not be offensive, defamatory or racist. Any entry with which the panel deem inappropriate will not be considered.
  • This competition will be judged by a combination of current Sydney University students and faculty members. The judging panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
  • The Exposure competition will be supported across all USU social media channels.
  • A photo of the finalists and winners will be taken and used for marketing purposes
  • The promoter is entitled to amend, edit, select, crop, retouch, add to or delete from any part of the submitted entry.
  • The winner’s names may be published on the USU website and social media channels and their photo and name may be used for marketing purposes. All entered content may be published on the USU website and social media channels for marketing purposes
  • The prize is non-transferable, nonnegotiable and not valid with any other offer.
  • The prize is not redeemable for cash and not refundable.
  • The competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
  • The promoter of this competition is The University of Sydney Union, Marcomms Office, Level 4, Holme Building, The University of Sydney. NSW permit Number LTPM/17/02152 Class: Type C.
