University of Sydney Roller Derby League

We are a fun and inclusive recreational league passionate about skating together, teaching skate skills, playing derby and anything else rollerskate related! We are one of the few non-competitive leagues in Sydney, though we have a competitive sibling league called Inner West Roller Derby, and we’ve been active since 2012! We run new member intakes at the beginning of each semester, so keep an eye on our facebook and insta pages for details on those, or send us a message.

Why join us?
Despite being a university league, anyone is able to join regardless of age, gender or whether you're studying. We are proudly an LGBTIQ safe space and inclusive of all genders, sexualities, races and religions, with a strict anti-discrimination policy.

Famous FOMO experiences on offer
We run fun extra events every year – past events include the Dirty Derby Ball, a Halloween skate and costume contest, and a free roller disco!

Meet ups & Community
We run two programmes each semester, at the Peter Forsyth Auditorium in Glebe. Thursdays 3 – 6 pm we run a Learn to Skate program aimed at complete beginners and new skaters, and on Wednesday 4 – 6 pm we run Advanced/Learn to Derby classes, aimed at skaters who have mastered all our beginner skills and are looking to learn some more advanced skills or progress to casual or competitive roller derby!

Membership fees
$5 annual fee, payable after attending one of our intake sessions or at the start of term for existing members
