SURG: Sydney University Radio Group
SURG is the student-run radio group at the University of Sydney - we love everything broadcast, digital arts and culture. Proudly continuing the history of campus radio, our online broadcast began in 2011 and has continued ever since. As one of the most active clubs on campus, we frequently collaborate with other media societies and have also expanded our content to include writing, podcasts and video.
Why join us?
SURG provides a great experience with radio, writing and editing! It’s a great chance to make something out of your interests and hobbies. You will also have access to a wider network of people in the industry and students who are looking to get into the same field (make friends and connections!).
No experience necessary! SURG provides all necessary training.
Famous FOMO experiences on offer
SURG hosts regular events like High Rotations, showcasing local DJs and talents. We also host weekly Alfresco afternoons at Hermann’s with special guests and DJs (and also discounted drinks). SURG is also active on Facebook and Instagram where we promote our shows, events and content! (TBC due to social-distancing…)
Meet ups & Community
SURG broadcasts five days a week during both semesters of the USyd academic year.
