Sydney University Fishing Society (SUFS)
Started by a few mates with an interest in fishing, SUFS provides a place for people of all fishing levels to relax, have a drink and hopefully catch some fish. With laid-back members that are beginners and also some experts, this is a place where you can learn more about fishing or just choose to hang-out with some mates. We host BBQ events, land-based fishing days, post fishing-related content, and support sustainable fishing practices. Don’t forget an annual 2-night camp as well! If watching the sunset at Narrabeen beach with a few camping chairs, your mates and some beer, wine or coffee sounds like a good time then this is the place for you!
Why join us?
You will learn real fishing skills taught by experienced fishing people, get to watch sunsets (maybe a sunrise if you are a morning person), and have your own go at catching a fish all with a drink in hand if that interests you. For those interested in fishing, you will gain access to a network of fishing people with opportunities to share spots, tricks and tips related to fishing.
Famous FOMO experiences on offer
You can miss our fishing expeditions to beautiful beaches, rivers and lagoons around NSW. We will have BBQ’s at these events with a range of food suitable for all people and in the chance that we catch a fish on the day – fresh fish for dinner or lunch.
Meet ups & Community
Regular catch up at the bars around Sydney Uni’s campus and our fishing expeditions are the best way to get to know our members.
